| She Gods of Shark Reef
She Gods of Shark Reef is billed as a Roger Corman classic, and, as with all of Corman's so-called "classics," it's terrible to the extreme. A pair of brothers -- one good, one bad -- flee from the law aboard a boat, only to be shipwrecked on a tiny island somewhere in the South Pacific. There they are rescued by a gaggle of nubile island girls who work as divers for a pearl harvesting company. For reasons unknown, there are no other men on the island, and the two brothers are immediately confined to a hut where they are told to wait until a boat comes for them. Naturally, the pair try to escape, with the bad brother making a quick stop at the hut where the pearls are stored . They then try to sail/swim out through the shark-infested waters that surround the island with semi-disasterous consequences. She Gods is truly an awful movie, a stinker of the first class, and its five minutes or so of underwater footage don't even come close to saving it. It is available on DVD. |
